In her capacity as the Lighthouse Medical Director, she provides medical leadership and strategic medical guidance to Lighthouse services including Clinical, Community Health Care services, and HIV Testing and Counselling Services both at the central and District level. Her role involves the development of strategies and guidelines that are evidence-based and those that maximise impact on quality HIV care for adults, children and Option B+ women; as well as ensuring improved service delivery for clients from enrolment to ART initiation, adherence, and retention in care and integration models.
Dr. Beatrice Mwagomba is also a PhD Fellow in the joint Global Health Implementation Programme under the University of St Andrews, Scotland and the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at College of Medicine (COM), Malawi.
Her main interest is health systems strengthening as well as development and implementation of strategies for prevention and management of various health conditions with a focus on chronic diseases, both infectious (e.g. HIV) and non-infectious (e.g. hypertension, diabetes and mental disorders).
