In his capacity as Executive Director, he provides strategic leadership to the Lighthouse, supervising both clinical care and research operations. As a research scientist, he also plays a leadership role in the design, implementation, and results dissemination of operations research including studies. He uses the Lighthouse Research platform to inform both national and international HIV-associated policies, and has won several large research grants leading Lighthouse to continue the role as a leader in model interventions and innovations in integrated HIV care.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA and Faculty member of the Malawi College of Medicine, Kamuzu Central Hospital Campus. He provides mentorship to budding clinical epidemiologists locally and internationally. He is a PI and Co –PI in several research projects including the WHO supported PURE Cluster Randomized Clinical Trial.
His main interests are in integration of HIV Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support programs including TB/HIV integration and linkages among Sexual and Reproductive Health services including screening and management of sexually transmitted infections, Family Planning, PMTCT and ART.
