Minister of Health special visit to the Lighthouse

The Minister of Health, Hon. Khumbize Kandodo-Chiponda MP, paid a special visit to the Lighthouse Center at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
During the tour, the Minister took a closer look at the HIV-integrated services provided at the Lighthouse. The Minister took a deep dive into our advanced HIV disease management services, encompassing screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Her keen interest in improving healthcare shone through as she explored the high-viral load corner, a unique feature calling recipients with a high viral load for personalized care before their next appointment, and the Male Champion initiative that is enhancing the establishment of male support groups in Lilongwe.
Integration is key!
The Minister applauded the integration of non-communicable disease (NCD) health services—cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental health – as well as the integration of other health services such as COVID-19 screening and management, and reproductive health services, including family planning and cervical cancer screening and management.
Her genuine interest and appreciation for the work being done at the facility and by the Trust truly reflect the government’s commitment to advancing healthcare services in our community.
Join us in celebrating this momentous visit, highlighting our commitment to innovative healthcare solutions as we continue to strive for excellence in person-centered service delivery!
